Sara Sallam [1991] is an Egyptian multi-disciplinary artist based in the Netherlands, working with still and moving images, prose poetry, and archival material. From documenting two boys seeing in a graveyard their playground, following a missing persons case, to reflecting on the death of her grandmother and the apathy towards her ancestors, she is motivated to narrate thought-provoking stories. Her photobook ‘The Invisible: Faith as a Phenomenon’ was shortlisted in Kassel Photobook Award, PhotoIndependent Art Fair, and was exhibited in Offprint London and Format Festival. Her body of work ‘The Fourth Pyramid Belongs to Her’ was awarded two grants, participated in exhitions in Cairo, Amsterdam, Alexanderia, and Nicosia, and was shortlisted in Lang-Taylor Prize. Next to her documentary practice, Sara worked in film editing, web design, and motion graphics.
